Replica Brass Handles and Stays - Widmerpool Hall.

Almost five years ago, I did a post about the old AA
headquarters in Nottinghamshire - this one:
Widmerpool Hall

I mentioned that somwhere there were other images of the work carried out. . . . well, at last. . . . they have turned up!

As well as all the parts that we did for the windows, we also made a bespoke fender, for one of the sitting rooms.
Lovely place!

Steel Window Beading - Easi-Glaze Beading.

Guess what this is?

Not immediately obvious - It's steel window beading for Crittall and other
types of steel windows.

Just taken delivery of another load, so thought I would include it on here.

We carry a lot of this material, including the studs and corners, which
are shown below.

It is also known as Click on beading, Crittall beading, Easi-glaze beading
and has been used on steel windows for many years.

We have brass bead studs, as well as steel ones, polystuds and we also
have the bead corners to suit, in round, or angled and the straight bead
corners, which are fitted at the joint of the vertical and horizontal bead.

Window Screwjack and Custom Brackets.

This is the finished item, based on the prototype seen on the last post.

Standard double extending screwjack, with custom brackets, to suit
a special application.

If you have a custom application for screwjacks and the standard
brackets won't do the job - drop me a line and I'll see if I can help.

Prototype Screwjack Brackets

These are shots of a special prototype set of brackets, for double
action screwjacks - the single hole allows a fixing to go straight
through 10mm glass, into a patch plate.

Monarch Sliding Sash Keeps.

Monarch Windows C330 Vertical Sliding Sash Keep.

The very last of our Monarch keeps went out of the door a few
weeks ago and as there is nothing out there that is even close
to the C330, these are the new replacements.

Old Window Winding Handles.

Many years ago, a lot of high level windows were operated
by winding gear, with a deep cut ACME thread which ran
through a bevel gearbox.

After all of this time, most of the operating handles
have been lost, walked or borrowed on a permanent
basis - never to be seen again!
So, these are some I made recently, which enable the
gear to be used again.

Result!!

More bespoke window components next time.

Sash Window Poles.

Quite a few aluminium sliding sash windows, had a groove
on the top rail of the top sash.

You could put your fingers into the groove, if you could reach
it and pull or push the sash with it - mainly ending up with
broken nails!!

There were some that had a pull handle that would slot into
the groove, which made things a little easier, if. . .  you could
reach the thing!

So, the best solution is the other option - a pole.

The shape of this pole head means that it is kept within the
groove, no matter if you are pulling or pushing.

Much easier and it will save you a manicure!!!
