Teleflex Ratchet Handles.

Teleflex is a well known manufacturer of control gear,
which is used to operate high level windows.

One of the Teleflex handles has a ratchet on it, to allow
it to be used in a tight space.

This job was to operate Teleflex control gear, that was
mounted behind a secondary glazing panel, so extension
pieces were made to suit the distance required.

That way, the outer windows could be operated without
opening the inner panels.

Replica Hinge.

Another replica hinge job.

The customer had tried various routes to find this hinge
and ended up going around in circles.
I couldn't pin it down, either - so it was decided to copy
one of the good ones that they had.

Machined and then barrelled.

The copy is on the left - the original hinge next to it.

Completed hinges.

Neat!

Heater Grille Slats.

Yet another unusual job!

Using a whole load of these parts, machined from Aluminium and Nylon,
put them together on lengths of threaded rod and this is what you get.

They are the grilles that go over under-floor heating pipes!
In the image above, you can just see the joint, if you look closely.
Made in three pieces, to make up a complete module of around 2800mm.

Never a dull moment around here!!

Slide stay, cut down.

There have been various projects on the go over the last few months.
I'll come back to them over the next week or two.

This is something I have completed this morning.

Customer has some old type slide stays, where the brackets are
welded to the frame.

These are the modern equivalent, that have had the top bar cut
down to match the fixing centres on the bracket.

These should drop straight on - a simple solution.

Magnet Sash Window Catches.

Magnet windows used to make a particular sash window, that had
a type of tilt latch, that is no longer available.

The projection into the track was 17mm and the ones you can get
now, won't fit into the track.
Time for some trimming down!

They may look the same at first glance but the one at the top,
which can still be supplied, has a wider projection.

The images below show the conversion.

The one on the right is an original, the one in the middle, is a
conversion and the one on the left, is a stock item.

If you have a need for Magnet Sash Tilt Latches, drop me a line.

Heritage Brass Window Handles and Stays.

This was an interesting job.

Large property in the north of the country, that had some missing/damaged fittings.

The ones showing many years of of use, are the originals and the bright shiny ones are the replicas.
Sort of obvious really.

The handles operate a link rod that slide up under a hook, in order to pull in a taller window at the top.

It will many years for a patina to develop but when it does, you would be hard pressed to tell the difference.
