W40 Flystays, for a development in Boston, MA - USA.

I did this one quite a few years ago but as I have recently found some of
the images of them fitted on site, I thought I would show you the very
first ones, fitted on the frames, just to make sure the all was OK.

Shown as Closed, Half Open and Fully Open.

This shot was taken just before they were all crated up for shipping to the USA.

Next time, I will post up the shots of them on site.

Purpose made parts for windows.

Whilst trawling through some of my old project boxes, these came to light.

The pivot brake lever, was for a large project in London, where they had
"been removed without the permission of the owner"!!

This shows various jobs - a Plunger Stop for a sliding stay.
Steel, plated hinges for a fire corridor job - the orignals being brass,
would have melted with the heat.
Square drive turnbutton and components, along with a very heavy duty
handle back-plate, stud for a stay and a corner hinge.

I will be posting up a few more bespoke window parts, next time.

Inside Glaze mock up.

Simple job, the other day - mock up for some very small
brackets to fit a stay onto an insde glaze steel frame.

These were converted from the standard "outside glazed"
bracket and countersunk.

Schlegel Locking Catch and some Purpose Made Keeps.

Two separate jobs.

Schlegel Fitch Catches, converted to locking.

This is a replica keep job, completely separate from the other job.

We make quite a few variations of stainless keeps - there were a lot
of systems that used them - most of a unique design to that company.

More stuff next time.

Any questions - metalwindowparts@gmail.com

Sash Balance - Special Feet.

Standard Spiral Balances, with replica Balance Feet.
The original ones have been obsolete for years.

This is what they looked like, half way through the job and below, fitted to
standard D Balances.

Nice job to do and solved the problem for the customer.

Roto Operators for Crittall and other Steel Windows.

Now, you don't come across these very often.

These are Roto Operators, which allow the window to be opened by
rotating the handle.
These are a lot more common in the USA but you still find them now
and again, particularly in kitchens, where the windows are fitted with
fly screens.

Treasures of the parts bins.

Having an in depth sort out, brings all sorts of things to the top of the pile.

Over the next month or two, I'm sure I will be finding stuff that has been
buried for years.

Off to do some more digging!
