This was something I did this morning, to help someone out.
If you look at most Small Section steel windows, the bolt or
nut, is very close to the glass and trying to get a normal spanner
behind the bracket, is in most cases. . . . . almost impossible!
When I was "on the spanners", as the term goes - the way around
this problem, was to convert a flat type Bicycle Spanner.
This is this enough, at just under 4mm, to fit where you need it to
and with a little modification - dressing down the end and forming
a crank in the handle, it works a treat.
I may do a small production run of spanners for metal windows, as
it is something we keep getting asked about.
It may prevent a lot of frustration - the person I made this one for
had been looking around for ages and had tried all sorts if things to
tighten his handle up.
Result!
