More panel guides.

These are the other panel guides, for Monarch sashes.

Again, as these were obsolete, these have been machined from
solid material.

VSS Panel Guides.

Another plastic machined part.

The original item is from a Monarch Vertical Sliding Sash,
and has now become obsolete.

"For want of a nail, the battle was lost" - as the saying goes!

As with anything that is made up from many components,
including windows, quite often a perfectly good sash, casement
or fanlight, is deemed as "unusable", for that want of a very
simple part.

These fit on the top of an aluminium sash, to stop the panel
crashing from side to side and enable it to run smoothly.
A simple part, doing a simple job - without it, the sash is very
difficult to use.

Tilt latch - fixed conversion.

This job was to provide "fixed" retainers, for a tilt and slide sash.

The tilt latches were being tampered with, allowing the sashes to tilt
inwards and in some cases, were not re-engaged properly.
This was considered a risk and it was decided to remove the original
latches and provide the items you see.

These were machined as a universal unit, being LH or RH, fixed with
pan head screws.

This means that the sashes can still be used as normal but will no longer
be able to tilt.

Extended Folding Openers.

These are the old Smith Wallis 242 Openers.

They were made to operate a top hung light, where there was
a deep window board and could be used as singles for narrow
lights or doubles for wider ones.

I still have quite an amount of the "Double" type but none of the
singles, with the ring on for pole operation.

So, using an original option for inspiration, I have done a simple
conversion to a double unit, to make it into a "Single Tee Bar"
type.

Ten Thousand Visitors.

I started this blog in July 2011, as a means to show and share what I do.

It has served as a useful tool, enabling newcomers to our services, to
take a look at what has been done in the past and what we can offer.

I logged on this morning to find that as of today, 10,000 visitors
have dropped in to take a look.

Not entirely sure who they were or where in the world they came from
but at least I know someone out there is showing some sort of interest.

So, if you have dropped into this post - Hi.

I have been busy on fitch catches, for the last few days and now the task
is a pre-Christmas tidy up - So bye for now and I'll come back with something
else we do, next time.

Caldwell Pace PE415 Pivot.

This is the latest job I am on - the old Pace PE145 Spinner Pivot.
This was used, alongside it's alternative, the PE413, on many Aluminium
Pivot Windows, over the last 30 years.

This is a shot of the first few that have been assembled - I'm off now to
carry on with the rest of them and will come back to you next time, with
another couple of images.
